Appetizing Fried Mac and Cheese Bites Recipe

Description

Fried mac and cheese bites are the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. Made with leftover macaroni and cheese, these golden bites are easy to prepare, crowd-pleasing, and ideal for parties, game nights, or family snacks.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups leftover mac and cheese, chilled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
  1. 1
Chill the leftover mac and cheese until firm. If freshly made, refrigerate for 1–2 hours before shaping.
  2. 2
Roll the mac and cheese into 1–1.5 inch balls and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
  3. 3
Set up three bowls: flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in the third.
  4. 4
Roll each mac and cheese ball in flour, then dip into egg, and coat with breadcrumbs. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and breadcrumb step once more.
  5. 5
Heat oil in a skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  6. 6
Fry the bites in small batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. 7
Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels, and garnish with fresh parsley.
  8. 8
Serve hot with dipping sauces such as ranch, marinara, or spicy mayo.
